Pet Turf Cleaning in Black Mountain Ranch

Black Mountain Ranch sits up in the hills off Camino Del Sur, and the yards up here run bigger than what we see closer to the coast. A bigger yard means more infill for urine salts to settle into, and more surface for summer heat to bake it in.

We're based in Poway, a short drive from Del Sur and Santaluz, and Black Mountain Ranch falls right inside our regular route. Most weeks we have at least one dog yard on the schedule up here.

What we actually do on a pet turf job

We start with a power broom and power sweep to clear loose debris off the surface. Then we apply a peroxide-based cleaning solution to the turf, working it into the high-use areas near gates and dog runs where the smell concentrates. Fresh pet-friendly infill goes back in after that.

If a yard has a tough smell that the solution and infill don't fully resolve, we bring out the extractor. Not every yard needs it. We finish every job with a final inspection and go back over anything that still needs attention.

How long does it take?

A 500 square foot backyard runs about 1.5 to 2.5 hours from the first pass with the broom to the final walk-through. Multi-dog yards on the larger end usually need the full 2.5 hours.

Why summer makes it worse

Inland canyon heat holds onto odor differently than the coast. By August, a yard that gets rinsed with a hose every day can still smell worse by afternoon. That's because rinsing spreads urine salts around instead of pulling them out of the infill.
