Turf Cleaning in Ramona
We cleaned a half acre dog yard off Highland Valley Road last month. The infill had two full summers of decomposed granite dust packed down into it, and the owner ran three shepherds across it every day.
Ramona is hard on turf. Big lots, dirt driveways, and wind that carries DG dust onto everything.
Inland heat is the other problem. Out past Dos Picos and the San Diego Country Estates, summer surface temps on dark infill push past 150 degrees, and that bakes pet odor deep into the backing where a garden hose will never reach it.
What our Ramona crew actually does
Every job runs the same three passes. A 180 degree steam pass to break the bond between urine salts and the infill, an enzyme rinse worked down to the backing, then a power broom to stand the blades back up.
On the bigger Ramona properties we split the yard into zones so the enzyme has time to sit. A typical pet yard out here runs 800 to 1,600 square feet, and a full extraction lands between $200 and $450 depending on square footage and how long the odor has been building.
We come up SR-67 from Poway, so a crew is rarely more than 25 minutes from Main Street.
When Ramona yards need it most
Spring, after the rains stop and the dust starts. And late summer, once the heat has cooked a season of dog waste into the infill.
If you run dogs on a larger Ramona Oaks lot, plan on two cleanings a year. Smaller yards near town can usually go once.
